This is what this painting is about. We can look at it in two different ways; some of us struggle to survive and we forget to let go, while some have achieved their goals and have everything they could ever want but also got lost in the grind and feel stuck somehow, longing for a simpler life where they can just let go. I recently saw a documentary about Warren Buffett, one of the richest men in the world, and one of the things that stood out about him is that he was almost never home with his family throughout his life and even when he was home, he wasn't really there. He spent all of his time reading about the stock market or trading stocks. I don't know if he ever takes the time to enjoy his money or smell the roses as they say! As much as we all long for financial freedom, I doubt that any of us want to wake up one day and realize that our memories are nothing but numbers with barely any rivers.
This painting is about getting lost in the day to day routine while longing to float away into a landscape and emptying your mind of all stress and worries. We spend a lot of our time trying to achieve peace of mind, much of what we do is about that, and often when it's there for us to take we still keep chasing while longing for some kind of spiritual rest. It's often easier said than done, but most of the time it's all about letting go of fear and to go to a place where nature effortlessly does its miracles. That is often where we find the best therapy. So while the weather permits it, take the time to live! Find a good spot in nature, take off your shoes and your socks, set your feet upon the earth and take it all in, it's all there for you to breathe in and heal.
